One-on-one lessons with PGA Golf Professional Tim Wagner at Independence Golf Course utilizing the driving range, Richmond Spiders teaching facility, on-course play on the Bear Course as well as the latest technology to analyze your swing and provide targeted feedback.
Personalized coaching with 1, 3 and 6-month training plans specialized to help you achieve breaking 100, 90, 80 and 70! With my patient and encouraging approach, we'll have you playing with confidence in no time.
- 50-minute evaluation/single lesson $125
- 90-minute playing lesson $175 **all playing lessons take place on Bear Course**
- 1-month package of 4 regular lessons and 1 playing lesson $625
- 3-month package of 12 regular lessons and 3 playing lessons $1725
- 6-month package of 24 regular lessons and 6 playing lessons $3,250
- 60-minute semi-private lesson (2 people) $150 (Discounted multiple lesson packages also available).
- Discounted Bear Course Membership exclusive to my students for $89 a month (typically $99) for unlimited play.
Junior Lessons
From pee wees taking their first lesson to teenagers looking to make their high school or a collegiate golf team, I offer an array of junior golf instruction including private lessons, sibling lessons, group classes and camps. Bi-weekly sessions are available as well, please inquire for information.

- 90-minute playing lesson $140 **all playing lessons take place on Bear Course**

Adult & Junior Clinics - Spring 2025
Various clinics are offered throughout the year for both adults and juniors which are a great opportunity to improve your game and meet new people. Membership to Independence is not required to participate in any programs. We can also create customized clinics if you’d like to have a group of friends come out. Whether you're planning a corporate retreat or a group outing, our custom golf clinics are the perfect way to bring people together for a fun day on the course. We'll design a program that meets your group's needs and skill levels. Below please find the Spring 2025 Class Schedule:
Junior Saturday Classes
There are two sessions for Spring 2025.
Cost: $180 for each 5-week session. These fill up fast so if you are interested in taking part in both sessions it is recommended that you register early and at the same time.
Session #1: March 22, 29, April 5, 12, 19
Session #2: April 26, May 3, 10, 17, 31
8:00 - 8:45 AM for Ages 5-7
9:00 - 10:00 AM for Ages 8-10
10:15 - 11:15 AM for Ages 11-15
Adult Clinics
Spring 2025 sessions begin mid-March.
Cost: $450 for 10 weeks

Spring 2025 Junior Leagues
RVA Interclub Jr League (Advanced Players)
Independence Golf Club has created a interclub junior league in conjunction with local clubs Dominion Club, Richmond Country Club and Salisbury Country Club. The 10-week league is for intermediate/advanced junior golfers ages 10+ and will include a weekly team practice and match against area club. This is a great opportunity for kids that are serious about golf and preparing for their middle or high school teams.
Cost: $625 for 10-week league - Runs mid-March thru May
Practices:
Tuesdays at 5:00 - 6:30 PM
Matches:
Saturdays at 4:00 PM
PGA Jr. League (Beginner/Intermediate Players)
Our PGA Jr. League program creates fun-filled, team golf experiences your kids won’t forget. Open to kids ages 6-14, it is great for the beginner or intermediate golfer that is looking for an opportunity to play on a team. Over the course of each season, we see our players grow in confidence, learn to work as a team and develop problem-solving skills. Matches will take place on Independence's Bear Course.
Cost: $599 for 10-week league - runs mid-March through May
Practices:
Wednesdays at 4:15PM-5:30PM (ages 6-9) and 5:30PM - 7:00 PM (ages 10+)
Matches:
Saturdays at 1:00PM
Junior Golf Camps
Robins Junior Golf Summer Camp
The Robins Junior Golf Summer Camp at Independence Golf Club is a 5-day golf experience designed to progress and challenge beginner and intermediate junior golfers ages 5-14 to learn and improve their game. Membership to Independence Golf Club is not required to register. Your junior golfer will get instruction covering all areas of the game, engaging in team challenges, games, and drills that will enhance their game in a fun and motivating environment. Kids will be grouped age appropriate. Half and full day camps are available for $399 and $599.
