One-on-one lessons with PGA Golf Professional Tim Wagner at Independence Golf Course utilizing the driving range, Richmond Spiders teaching facility, on-course play on the Bear Course as well as the latest technology to analyze your swing and provide targeted feedback.
Personalized coaching with 1, 3 and 6-month training plans specialized to help you achieve breaking 100, 90, 80 and 70! With my patient and encouraging approach, we'll have you playing with confidence in no time.

Junior Lessons
From pee wees taking their first lesson to teenagers looking to make their high school or a collegiate golf team, I offer an array of junior golf instruction including private lessons, sibling lessons, group classes and camps. Bi-weekly sessions are available as well, please inquire for information.

- 90-minute playing lesson $140 **all playing lessons take place on Bear Course**

Adult & Junior Clinics - Spring 2026
Various clinics are offered throughout the year for both adults and juniors which are a great opportunity to improve your game and meet new people. Membership to Independence is NOT required to participate in any programs. We can also create customized clinics if you’d like to have a group of friends come out. Whether you're planning a corporate retreat or a group outing, our custom golf clinics are the perfect way to bring people together for a fun day on the course. We'll design a program that meets your group's needs and skill levels. Below please find the Spring 2026 Class Schedule:
Junior Saturday Classes
We have an 8-week session for Spring 2026 that is great for beginner golfers or juniors looking to better their game. Begins March 21.
Cost: $300 for the 8-week session. Due to the small class size, this clinic fills up fast so if you are interested please sign-up early.
8:30 - 9:15 AM for Ages 5-7
9:30 - 10:30 AM for Ages 8-10
10:30 - 11:30 AM for Ages 11-15
Adult Clinics

Spring 2026 Junior Leagues
RVA Advanced League
The 10-week league is for intermediate/advanced junior golfers ages 11+ and will include a weekly team practice and match against area club. This is a great opportunity for kids that are serious about golf and preparing for their middle or high school teams.
Cost: $625 for 10-week league - Starts March 10
Practices:
Tuesdays at 5:00 - 6:30 PM
Matches:
Saturdays at 4:00 PM
PGA Jr. League (Beginner/Intermediate Players)
Our PGA Jr. League program creates fun-filled, team golf experiences your kids won’t forget. Open to kids ages 6-14, it is great for the beginner or intermediate golfer that is looking for an opportunity to play on a team. Over the course of each season, we see our players grow in confidence, learn to work as a team and develop problem-solving skills. Matches will take place on Independence's Bear Course.
Cost: $599 for 10-week league (includes uniform kit). Starts March 11.

Wednesdays at 4:15PM-5:30PM (ages 6-9) and 5:45PM - 7:00 PM (ages 10+)

Junior Golf Camps
Robins Junior Golf Summer Camp
The Robins Junior Golf Summer Camp at Independence Golf Club is a 5-day golf experience designed to progress and challenge beginner and intermediate junior golfers ages 5-14 to learn and improve their game. Membership to Independence Golf Club is not required to register. Your junior golfer will get instruction covering all areas of the game, engaging in team challenges, games, and drills that will enhance their game in a fun and motivating environment. Kids will be grouped age appropriate. Half and full day camps are available for $399 and $599.
